Cathy Gingrich constructs her artwork in outward layers, deliberately designed to draw the viewer "in" with a combination of vivid color and balanced composition, and also invites the viewer to evoke their own interior, intellectual and emotional images. She often incorporates into her works a subtle, raw or a cosmic truth, by means of a tragic comic, or common situation or object.

Her stated goal is not to transform, educate or even expose those who view her artwork, but to bring an appreciable sense of recognition and validity to the emotions and ideas of her viewers.

A life-long student of the art of painting, she studied formally at the York Academy of Arts in her home state of Pennsylvania. Her affordable works are primarily "oil on canvas". Images of her work can be seen, purchased and commissioned.
